The thousands dollar cabbage

This look like cabbage plant is also a family of Anthurium. I asked my Mom what is its name, but she doesn’t remember. My Mom doesn’t remember whether it's very pricey when she bought it. We were just recently aware when our new maid saw it in our garden, and she told my Mom that her ex-employer has it too and that plant is very expensive.A repairman who happened come to our house gasp as he saw that pot plant hidden behind our other plants like an abandoned plant, he even said that this plant is even more expensive than the Wave of Love.
After I googled I this is what is called Jenmanii Anthurium, the name is not as exotic as Wave of Love, but I like this plant more cause the leaves seem emerging directly from the ground. This plant like any other anthurium is priced also depending on how many leaves it has, more leaf means more expensive. Well, sometimes you are not aware what you really have until others tell you :) though I think the price is not as high as that, or some Indonesian people are too ridiculous.

Wave of Love

Do you have Wave of Love in your house?
This wave of love is a name of current popular pot plant in my country. I don't know its complete latin name, but it's belong to Anthurium family. People in my country call it Anthurium "Gelombang Cinta" which is translated into English as Wave of Love Anthurium. Very seductive name.
My Mom bought it long ago when the price was still not as high as these days. This Wave of Love never really gets special care from us, we just water it every morning.
We also never really think about our plants prices once we owned them if not some guests and one of our new maids mentioned about it. My brother's friend who saw our big Wave of Love pot plant immediately admired it and told my brother that it cost tens millions rupiah or thousands $US, and he asked for the seeds when they're available.

My Dad doesn't believe that the plant can cost thousands $US and I can't understand either why suddenly the price climbs rocketing like that I think it's ridiculous, but it's kind a cool to have a plant with that exotic name, Wave of Love.

dream itinerary

The Wikipedia about tourism states that the most visited city and country are Paris and France. If you haven't been there maybe you should put this destination on your future travel list, and start to find the best deal of transport and hoteles en Paris.

So far, I have been there only twice, well, at least that made me meet Eiffel Tower in 'person', set foot on the top of it and admired Paris from its sky. I also went to Notre Dame Cathedral to fulfill my childhood dream to see the place that I'd once only known from the Hunchback of Notre Dame novel. I didn't forget to visit Louvre to smile back to Mona Lisa, and also, because I needed to see The Louvre Pyramids, a famous creation from a famous architect, I.M Pei. I love beautiful architecture, be it old or modern. That is why I love Europe, why I have listed Spain into my future journey.

I want to see La Sagrada Familia and all other buildings touched by my favourite architect of all architects, Antoni Gaudi. His buildings that are scattered in Barcelona have obsessed me, and his unhappy ending life makes me even want to know him more through his buildings. Other building that also a must see is the famous Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, a masterpiece by Frank Gehry, another famous architect.

Of course while traveling, other than seeing architecture masterpieces, I would love to experience the culture. Spain has a festive culture, such as flamenco dance, matador fight, and this one is my favourite one, La Tomatina – Tomato fight. Ever since I saw it on television, I keep wondering about it.
Well, ok, so from now I must find the best of the best deals for a tourist in Spain including about hotel, I must start to search about hoteles en EspaƱa, which is including good hoteles en Barcelona, and hoteles en Madrid too, just in case I want to pay a visit to the official residence of the Spanish Royal family :-D

The Lost Kingdom

On one of my blogwalking from entrecard, I came across this similar mama tiger and piglets photo. To be honest my first reaction was: I wish that tiger skins on the piglets are only fake tiger skins.
As I’m a curious person who loves Google search so much, I always likely to search further to find out more about interesting story that catches my attention. That also happened when I was reading fiveblondes’s The World is Amazing.
Especially because a comment from Jackie brings out an appalling story behind that photo.

What is the real story?
1. That picture is taken from SRIRACHA TIGERZOO in Thailand NOT in California.
2. That tiger doesn’t lose her cubs at all, instead ‘the happy family’ is fabricated for human amusement solely. This is unfavourable grim real story about mama tiger and piglets affair, including mama piggy and cubs, and other stories.
3. This is the article in 2003 about the 100 tigers that Sri Racha Tiger Zoo in Thailand exported to China, including tiger meat issue.
4. This is the favourable Urban Legend

I haven't found the latest news about it though, does it mean no news is good news? I hope so, in the mean time, 'enjoy' this video from Sri Racha Tiger-Piglets Circus.

Tip Practice

Personally, I don't mind to tip a satisfying service with a make sense tip. In Indonesia, tipping is not mandatory and I think the people who don't tip outnumber the people who tip. Often upon paying the bill at a restaurant, we check first if we need to tip the waiter because at some restaurants, cafes, and the alike usually there is already 10% service charge included on the bill. However if the waiter is very helpful we might likely give small tips in addition to the service charge. On the other hand, we are likely not to leave tips even if there's no service charge included, if the waiter doesn't serve well or if the food are not good.

Although to tip or not to tip is never really a problem in my country, it's already like an unwritten rules to tip at salon. It's not a big deal if it's a small salon, because you likely only have to tip the hairdresser and the shampoo guy/ girl. Having a haircut at a big salon will likely to involve at least 3 people, the shampoo girl/guy, the hairdresser and the hairdresser assistant who's in charge to first dry hair before being styled and having final touch by the hairdresser. The tip for hairdresser is usually up to 10% of the service, while amount tip for the shampoo guy/ girl and the hairdresser assistant is usually up to the customer.

Tipping a taxi driver is not a custom in Indonesia, but some people like to let the driver keep the change or to give some more if the driver drives cautiously and is polite.
Basically people who tip in Indonesia will tip if they get very good service, this is very different from the tipping custom in US, at least from what I read on How to tip like a gentleman. Glad that many countries don't apply tipping like in the US, and a comment from TedinAsia on that article should be taken into consideration, just in case :-)

Top Dog Bloggers

Are they real?
If you ever joined or are joining Bloggerwave then you probably know what I'm writing here.
That's the top earners list on Bloggerwave. That list really brings question to my head. I have joined BW since December (or early January) but I never have seen any opportunity there, yet the bloggers on that list can get that much?

Then sometimes ago, I googled some of the names from that Top Dog bloggers list, guess what?
I found a post by Meredith Neiss, the supposed runner up on the list, she expresses her surprise on how her name can be on the second top when all that she's done only 5 posts of $US 10 each.

Just now I made some further search about those name on the list, I chose 3 names to google and none of the results that I get relate bloggerwave. Strange? Or maybe that can't be taken as a proof of something wrong.
Here's another funny fact about that top dog bloggers list.
Why does it use Dog anyway? Dog is a trusty creature, dog's image shouldn't be used for -I hope I'm wrong- something phoney.
I don't know how to delete my profile there now. Wondering.

Have you checked the mailbox?

Don't let your mail packages hurt, wrecked or torn just because your mailbox has leak on it or doesn't have a proper size. I hated it every time I received postcard or mail that looked like has been on the long torturing journey before it arrived in my mailbox, it's completely covered with stains!
It was all because our mailbox had some leak on its surface and the leak permitted the water to get inside when the rain came. The poor quality of the mailbox material made it vulnerable to impairment. Luckily I live in a safe neighborhood, so we never experience theft or any kind of vandalism over our vulnerable mailbox.

Of course you do not want to wait for bad thing to happen.
If you care about your mails safety, find the sturdy and good-looking mailbox to protect your mails. Mailboxixchange has it all in its collections, whether residential mailboxes or commercial mailboxes, they are all made with high quality materials and they even can be part of your property decoration. There are more than 1500 mailboxes to choose there, that is more than enough.

Even if you don't plan to buy a new mailbox yet, you still need to surf Mailboxixchange, just in case in the near future you need it. One other good reason is also because Mailboxixchange has an afilliate programme that will pay participant $20.00 for signing up. Basically the affiliate programme only valids for any bloggers based in the USA, but there's an exception for those who have their traffic majority come from the USA.
Check out the mailboxes on Mailboxixchange now.

Triggit for fun

Finally Triggit makes it clear on Getsatisfaction that Triggit is not taking commissions from the links that its users make with Triggit. That's cool.
When I signed up I didn't think at all whether or not Triggit would make money from the clicks to my ads links.

I decided to use Triggit only because it's very easy to link advertisements, Youtube videos and images from Flickr into blog or website. I read on Gigaom that Wordpress actually also has similar plugin that works similarly, linking products that are being mentioned on the blog posts directly to merchants. Well, since I'm not on Wordpress, this thing is very new to me.

Triggit doesn't need coding at all. Everything just drag and drop, after you put a snippet of Triggit code into your html. Every time I need to link a word or some words of my blog post to related merchants from Amazon or Commission Junction, I just click the Triggit red triangle icon -see on the bottom on this page-, and all is done. That simple step also works for posting photos from Flickrs or video from Youtube. Yes the photo on this post is directly transported from Flickr. This following is a test using Amazon product: I'm interested in "A Life of Jesus" a book by Shusaku Endo. Nice eh :)

Triggit is still in Beta, you must have invitation to join it. Gigaom states on one of its post last month that Triggit gives it 300 Triggit invites, just type gigaom on the invite code box.
If you miss it, don't worry, I think Triggit is generous enough, I requested the invite directly and got it quite quick.

No Obligation

This is not an advice over mortgages because there are already plenty advice available all over the internet enough to make a person confused of which to believe. Having too many unsorted information at hand is sometimes blocking us from the solution, especially when the information come from different outlooks.

Money magic, presented by www.earth.co.uk, acknowledges the fact by featuring “Homeowners left confused over mortgages” article on its site. The article is saying that research found out that borrowers still prefer a two-year fixed rate deal.
But does that deal suit for everyone? How to be sure of which is the right mortgage plan? As I already said about too many information, I better leave it to the Mortgages expert.

The site is a source of information about mortgage that presents only the essential matters about it, including the newest news and prediction over mortgage deals. First step of all to come out of the clutter, maybe to have a look on its Mortgages guides, learn it, and if still in doubt just post it to the site. This mortgages source is committed to give advice and help with no obligation, no credit check, free quote and for any purpose.

A Valentine Campaign

More to Me Declaration BadgeA comment that I just received tonight for my "Play to save Shelter Pets" posting has reminded me about it. I went to visit the site and played the trivia, and this time I signed up myself there.
I just realised that the site name is Experience Project, and it's not only about those misfortunate shelter pets, but there are a lot more projects.

One of them is about More to me campaign. Probably lots of you have heard about people, especially models who are very skinny because they're pressed by their societies, and this even has taken some young souls out of this world forever. Very sad.

So if anyone want to have a more meaningful Valentine celebration, please think about those young girls' who have lost their souls because of the wrong perception of beauty.

Support programs promoting healthy body image for girls. SIGN NOW to get the attention of policymakers!

Happy Valentine to you all and don't leave the shelter pets too this valentine ;-) play the trivia for free to help them. Grazie

Lighting Source

Don't we love internet? Whenever we need something –even just to feed our curiosity- we can count on search engine, put the keywords and one click will give us the results. Like when I put the keywords fine art lamps, I found www.farreys.com as the first on the list. It makes sense I think, because this site has extensive selection of lighting, it's really a lighting source. Its fine art lamps selections are delighting, and all of the products of that collection is handcrafted exclusively in America.

Other selections are also worth to see, and it's so easy to browse the site whether to search lightings based on the brand or based on the categories. George Kovacs and Murray Feiss are two amongst many designer brands that can be found there.

Above are some of the lamps from the site, can you guess which one is my favourite? ;-)

Qassia Experience Update

Get your own Hyplet!

My reading and screening activities in Qassia since about a week of my joining has granted me $1,760, and so far I've been recruiting 4 members *thanks* that gives me $400, then my 2 intels give me $165 because I got rate C and C+ only. The total Qassia dollar that I own so far is $2,325, this dollar works like a rating to Qassia users. The top 7 users with highest dollar and top 7 users by intel appear on the Qassia main page, that makes them get bigger exposure than other users. The main page also lists top 50 sites that get the highest dollar allocation.
With my $2,315 of course I'm not there yet, but since my 2 intels are accepted, that makes me somewhere in the list too and my intels also secure my chance to get quality backlinks for a long run –that's what Qassia says, and maybe get some revenues from my adsense there.

Right now the dollar, or should I say Q$ is only meant for creating a blog/ website net worth and this net worth matters for determining how high the blog or wite will rank. However, if I'm not mistakenly read, Qassia will introduce other novel ways to make use Qassia dollars. It sounds in the future Qassia dollar will be in for transaction, like what happens with the already popular Entrecard's EC.

What makes Qassia unique, there members have to read the intel –posting- before able to rate it. I made a test by rating an intel without really reading it, and my rate was rejected. It seems the system set certain time for each intel to be read, so whenever other user rate it too fast, the system will reject it. This is good though, because I have gotten many useful information from my reading there.

I like it also the ability to reject or give an F to an intel, although Qassia gives a note that to reject an intel must meets one or more of these criteria:
Not in English
Incomprehensible
Pornographic
About Qassia

Not only because the intel is:
Very short
Blatant advertising
Probably untrue
Irrelevant to you personally

For the above reasons user is advised to give E instead. Of course even if one user rates a certain intel 'E' or 'F', the fate of an intel still have to wait ratings from 9 other users. Well, at least this system give users the chance to prevent 'garbage' intel.

Users are also given the ability to comment anonymously to every intel, and I'm liking this too because I get feedback from what I post, so I know to fix my intels. Yes, those intels that are already posted can still be edited. However, be prepared to harsh comment.

Right now since Qassia still in Beta, some features -like the search engine- are still not working properly, but because it's still in Beta, Qassia gives abundant easy Qassia dollars to early birds :), for instance Qassia gives $500 for user who can get referral within 12 hours after the sign up.
I'm sure when the features have all worked, Qassia will sparks more charms, maybe like a box of chocolate....you might be surprised of what you find there ;-)

Here's the link to sign up.

Sharing intel with Qassia

What is Qassia?
Well, if you are just a small blogger like me and want to grow the blog or you are already big but still want to get bigger, Qassia can help by rewarding its users with backlinks, credit and revenue whenever users share intel, a short word of intelligence, which is nothing but tidbit of information aka those things that we usually write or show on blogs. Users can write anything that they like as far as the intel is in English and a non-porn article.

The quality of intel in Qassia is maintained by voting system, which means an intel can only be published or rejected after get screened by minimum of 10 users. The intel rating goes by 6 choices:
A - Outstanding
B - Good job
C - Decent enough
D - Below average
E - Awful
F - Fail [Reject]

Users also get credit or bonus by screening other's intel, a first user who rates an intel will get a bonus of $5 while the rate that goes with the majority and which turn our to be near to the final score will gives the rater $10, that all be valid when the intel get 10 users to screen it.

Qassia is also a good instrument to feed your adsense because Qassia allow users to run Google Adsense ads, and unlike many other websites who also allow sharing Google Adsense, Qassia leaves 100 percent of the adsense revenue to users.
If you like what you read about Qassia and want to join, please accept my invite on ioi.qassia.com by clicking the sign up because Qassia is currently in closed Beta and by invitation only. Thank you!!
