How Warm is you Christmas?

Christmas is coming..Christmas is coming..and so is.......the winter season in some parts of the World.
I read that the winter weather blasts Europe with its snow and bitter cold temperature.
Australia, which normally has a warm summer December, this year has been mocked by the strange weather that swaps the warm summer Christmas to cold winter Christmas. I hope the people have prepared themselves with some heat max hand warmers to cut the chill factor.
Winter and snow could be wonderful, or.....dreadful if not prepared.
Some fun and wonderful things I could relate with winter and snow are snowball throwing between friends *love this* :-D, making snowman, and skiing. I never make snowman yet and I regret that I didn't take the offer of a friend who invited me to join him skiing in his village in Trieste when I actually had the chance.

Here in my part of the world, winter never ever comes, and so no snow ever shows up during Christmas. We have a much warmer Christmas than people in the USA, Europe and with exception, Australia this year.
Still, Christmas in our country is usually marked by a cooler weather than the usual. This is because we have a lot of rain and strong wind during December. At home, old people like my parents whose feet get cold easily during night time, are usually looking for foot warmer.

However, regardless the cold weather that anyone may experience during this season, I know the spirit of Christmas will always keep us warm..........in heart :)

Meanwhile...here is another drawing that I make for my Christmas digi-stamp project :))

A cuter Mrs. Santa Claus!!...I will make a card with it later or tomorrow :)
Hope you all like her...ehmm...I mean...my drawing  :)

My Confession

Christmas is coming, and I think it's fun if I'm welcoming the Holy day with making some Christmas digi stamps. This one is inspired by the memory of my childhood....believe it...or..not....
I was too angelic, that's why I never got the part as Maria...ahahah...*devil's laugh*

ps. what's the memory of your Christmas childhood?

A doll with an Afro hairdo

After some short times I set one foot in the craft world of card, I kept thinking of making some sketches for my future cards. Probably I'll make something like my own sketch bank. This time character is an Afro-like girl which is denoted by her coily hair. I've somehow been fascinated by the hairstyle.
Of course, like some Asian -including Indonesian- girls who don't like their curly or not so straight hair, some African-descendants prefer straight hair. Still I think Afro hairdo has its own charm, especially for those who have artistically beautiful faces.
That's all for now about this girl, I'll develop the sketch when I'm in the mood again!

Art Attempt

I have felt privileged since last Saturday when an invitation of Sri Hadhy's opening painting exhibition arrived for me.
I know I probably got it because I once, though only for a day, joined his course.
He, one of the notable painters from Indonesia, will have his painting exhibition next week, and it seems he invite all of his ex-/pupils to attend the opening ceremony.

Leet phoned me about Sri Hadhy some days ago when she saw her friends' painting exhibition at Hotel Nikko. Apparently one of them was Sri Hadhy's student. Leet and I have been dreaming to live for and from painting. What a coincidence that I got that invitation on Saturday.

That only day when he saw me doing a sketch, he eulogised my sketch! :-D
Well...though it was probably just his encouragement as a teacher to his student, it did and does make me proud because he did not say that to my two friends.

Maybe I do have a little talent on art, but I never really practise it, unlike Leet.
There is this axiom that says that success is about 1% talent and 99% attempt or practice.
My problem is, I have too much wants that lead me nowhere at the end. I'm so easy to like something.

I love Van Gogh's brush stroke. I like Klimt's rich and sensual paintings. I like Basquiat's puzzled paintings. I'm taken by Edward Hopper's capture of aloneness. I want to make pop art drawings like Lichtenstein. I admire some paintings and drawings on deviantart. I dream to be like each of them, not just one of them :-D
C'est terrible, n'est pas.

Anyhow, these are my latest attempts on paintings.
Hey you, sorry if I used the design that I made for you ya ;-) I like it so much. Don't worry, I mask your face and the word on your heart so it won't reveal you.

If my fingers could successfully materialise the picture that I saw on my head, this picture could have been much better.
He wanted me to make a tattoo design that depicts yin-yang concept. Him with his feminine and masculine sides blending, but that doesn't mean he's a sissy. He's very straight.

I feel that he's a good person, full of spirit, loves life, loves women and loves his ‘favourite sport' ;-)
He has a very artistic face, so I made it as part of my design. Hence I decided that his tattoo would be him with my tattoo design that shows his passions: woman, nature, beauty, and kindness, all over his thorax and his hands. I was inspired by a cover illustration of Secret Rendezvous, a novel by Kobo Abe.

These two are just a draft and a remake of the design. He took the original one.
See how I failed the colouring scheme :-(

Flipbook

It's when you feel like to draw...or...want to send special message...or...just want to scratch...
Draw your own animation.
I made mine and "It's All About A Dog".

Ms. Receptionist

I got a lingering impression about the receptionists (or front desk staffs?) at Berjaya Hotel, especially about two of them. Amazingly, they look like very similar to each other. Look like twins.
I tried to recapture her image tonight. I should have done it last month though when my brains hard-disk still held a fresh memory of her image.
One of them, the one that I portrayed with the help of PaintShop here, was very very "helpful", "friendly" and effective!

I asked her for a room exchange, because the bathroom didn't have a proper condition, the lid of the wash basin hole was too dense, causing the water to leave very slowly and so to cause puddle and the stick that control the lid didn't work either (yes, I checked everything immediately after I entered the room).

She gave us two choices:
1. Take the room
2. Take the substitute room

Two choices indeed, but both rooms were in similar condition, the substitute room, as can be seen from pictures that I put here look so "OMG". Tell me, was I too choosey, fussy, sushiiiiii??
All that I was asking was a decent room with a decent bathroom, doesn't have to be posh at all.

Why I didn't take the numero uno choice?
Because...I was fed up with the hotel housekeeping.
I didn't want to deal with the housekeeping staffs like in my previous stay. Last time it was frustrating enough when I reported about the wash-basin and the flush that couldn't work properly. There was this housekeeping lady, came with the repairman to fix the problem. The repairman was very kind, he was very helpful, he fix the flush and when he wanted to fix the wash-basin, the housekeeping lady told me that it's actually not a problem at all, because I can just pull out the lid by myself.
I felt like "WHAAAATTTT???"
I told her, it's SO GROSS!
Besides why would I have to do that, I paid for the room with the condition and assumption that all work properly. Besides shouldn't it normally (in any other hotels) have to be that way?
The wash-basin hole lid should actually work mechanically by pushing and pulling the stick behind the faucet, but it was broken.
So I said "No way," and she gave me sour look!
I felt so burnt.
Luckily the repairman fixed the problem immediately and apologised to me for the inconvenience.

The funny fact about the choice number 2: The room is just right beside of the room that I stayed a month previously. That led me assuming that all room in this level has similar condition, this was the 3rd room that I knew on this floor because in our previous stay we took 2 rooms. I told the receptionist girl that maybe the rooms in this hotel are all that "beautiful." She just ignored me :-P
