We Are The World Meme

Ok I have something to post today thanks to Monica. Seems that the world is still mourning because of the shocking dead of Michael Jackson, and to me the feeling came in slowly. I didn't really feel anything on day one or two, but since yesterday I've felt the lost, and guess what song that has been lingering on my head? Not We Are the World, but..

..this...

..One day in your life...
--//---
you remember me somehow..though you don't need me now
..I will stay in your heart...
and when things fall apart...you remember one day...

He certainly stays in many people's hearts already.
Well, better stop now before I'm getting emotional, better get back to the We Are the World Meme from Monica.

Positive Sounds

My Muxtape has been up for some time already, but I have not been able to complete it. There are currently eight songs up on ouli.muxtape.com, and all of them are the songs that build positive mood on me. So if I feel gloomy or alike, these songs are my medication :-D

Here they are:
1. Idan Raichel - Bo'ee
2. Bali Lounge - Angels Of The Island
3. Lamb - Softly
4. Neffa - Passione
5. Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
6. Mark Sholtez - If You Were A Song
7. Paolo conte - Vieni via con me
8. Lamb - Gorecki

Of course, Bo'ee is there, I love that song very much, very uplifting.
Peccato che the Angel Of The Island is not as good as the one in the Bali Lounge CD version.

Idan Raichel..Boi..O Boi...

This is the third times in a day I mention about Idan Raichel on the net.
Idan Raichel is an Israeli musician whose songs currently hold spellbound on me.
I love mostly Bo'i, it's really mesmerising me to the bone.
The tunes, the language, especially that Amharic language...magical...and Idan Raichel...I'm unashamedly saying this, sei molto bellissimo.
I would love to see his concert but I think Idan Raichel will never be able to perform in my country. Sigh.

Here, the lyrics and video of Boi from Idan Raichel and friends.

Come, give me your hand and we will go
Don't ask me where
Don't ask me about happiness

Maybe it will come too
When it will come
it'll fall upon us like rain.

Come, let us embrace and go
Don't ask me when
Don't ask me about home
Don't ask me for time
Time does not wait, nor stop or remain.
*

Here's the translation of Amrahic language used in the song, the part that's uttered by a female member of Idan's group.

Do you remember back then, when you used to always bring me flowers
You'd entertain me, I'd entertain you,
You'd talk to me, I'd talk to you
We'd hold each other
We'd spend every day with joy

When evening came, we'd ask when a new day would begin
When we'd separate, I would feel sad
When we'd meet, I would feel immense joy
And now all that has passed and here we are now.

If You Were A Song

Thank God for my mobile phone, thank God for the internet, thank God for everyone who like to blog, otherwise I wouldn't know this very sweet song that I listened through CnJ radio when I was in the car yesterday. I typed some words from the song on my mobile phone while listening to that an unfamiliar but a very nice song, and voila, Google does its magic again.

That breezy romantic jazzy like song is "If you were a song" and it is sung by an Australian singer Mark Sholtez, not by a female singer like what I thought before.
Mark Sholtez seems don't make available or don't distribute the music video of this song on the internet. Youtube only has a video clip based on If you were a song music, made for VH1 India video promo that channel.

For now I can only listen If you were a song from the MP3 player on the Myspace site of Mark Sholtez, and try to sing a long a bit with its lyrics:

If you were a dream
I wonder how many hours I’d sleep
How hard it would be to wake up and how easy to fall

If you were a dream
There would be nothing else I’d want to see
No reason ever have opened my eyes at all

♥ If you were a song
Every word would be etched in my memory
Every note of the delicate melody would be there in my head
If you were a song
I would practice you night and day
Until perfectly I could play you by heart

If you were the sun
I couldn’t bear have a cloud between us
I’d search for a place where they say that the rain never falls

If you were the moon
Every night my eyes would be fixed on you
Never closed for one moment from dusk 'til the first light of dawn

...back to ♥ twice
For everyone who is currently fall into the great thing called Love ;-)

When My Heart Finds Christmas

Nothing is more special about Christmas than the Christmas itself, not the old Santa Claus, not the presents, not anything else because Christmas is already the biggest present given by God. I didn't have Christmas wish list but I did made some wishes when I attended a Christmas celebration of my Church on 20th December.

Some of my Italian friends whom I chat with on Christmas Eve were expecting Christmas dinners with their families but no such tradition in my family, and I chatted 'til around 1am -which means Christmas day already.

Got awakened by a massive noise thunder around 3am, I woke up saying God, and I don't know why I thought about doomsday directly. Then I told God something like ooh.....please God this is your birthday, and I got back to sleep :-D

Now, on officially Christmas day. Something did happen. One of my wish did come true and it means a lot to me. Thanks Jesus, I love that surprise. Still, nothing is more special than the Christmas itself.

And this is a wonderful song for the jolly holly season from Harry Connick, Jr I pray on Christmas

On Evil is Selling!!

My Mixaloo mix is really selling. I didn't believe it at first when I read a comment notification from Blogger saying:
CGHill ha lasciato un nuovo commento sul tuo post "Mixaloo":
Out of curiosity, I bought your Mixaloo. Interesting collection, and thanks.
This really makes my day somehow :-D
Although I don't get profit from Mixaloo since I'm outside the USA, I'm still happy!!
Happy to know that other person, especially a stranger, also is enjoying my creation........
I mean what I mix :-P
Thank you.

Mixaloo

Mixaloo invite finally arrived in my inbox last night. I make my mix this morning and here is my first Mixaloo. These songs probably don't match each other, since I just put all those songs that currently have been occupying my minds. No more saying....just listen.....to my current mood.....

On Evil

I've just started Emule-ing!
Yes I was ages behind about this cos I didn't have fast connection.
Now that I own it, Fabio one of the nicest gurus (wow) on the net taught me the nitty-gritty of open source, which for me, Emule!!

Since I've been on evil -possessed by some ghost on Pluto- yesterday I searched emule for some spiritual sugar healing songs.
Here they are queuing on my player now:

Bittersweet Faith – Bitter:Sweet
Love Song – The Cure
Deep Inside of You – Third Eye Blind
Foundations – Kate Nash
Falling From Grace – The Gentle Waves
Don't Explain – Billie Holiday
The Ballad of Tom Jones – Space feat. Cerys of Catatonia
For Once in my Life – Harry Connick Jr. <3
Too lost in You – Sugababes
I Miss You – Bjork
Godsend – DC Talk
No One – Alicia Keys

Internet Companion

There are already some radios in internet world, but I like musicovery - an interactive webradio- most currently. It has clean, simple but very nice interactive interface.
It's easy to operate, just pick music genre, set period of year, mood, hit/ non hit, danceable or not and sound quality.

All those choices then will appear on the right panel as a map of song titles, each song has colour depends on its genre. The radio then will play continuously from one song to another based on that map.
It's become my new internet companion now.

...Andrea Bocelli...Con te partiro...Lenny Kravitz...I belong to you...Luigi Boccherini...Quintette cordes, op 115: minuetto...Verve...Bitter Sweet Symphony...

I got that Fastcar

Evoke with Evoca
Merci beaucoup Bouli

Bali Lounge

Before I bought this CD this afternoon, I actually had spotted it twice or thrice at some record shop.
I was thinking of buy it, but my dangling mind always stopped me from buying it, and I never even tried it.
Until some weeks ago, my only favourite radio station in Jakarta,
CnJ FM 9,99, aired a catchy unique tune. It was a jazz with some streaks of ethnical music, my guessed was Balinese gamelan. It really captured my friend's and my ears, and don't know why it made my self to envision back that white CD pack with tiny lable.

And my feeling was right; it was the music that I heard on CnJ radio.

It is Bali Lounge, a
noble project masterminded by Gita Wirjawan.

Almost all the tunes in this album are soothing to my ears, but I played "Angels of the Island", the track #2, almost 20 times today!
The lyrics used by that song #2 is in Aceh language, and the vocalist of this group is Aceh by origin. He sings very well. I like his unique voice.

One song that does not really suit my taste is "Apa." I like the melody, but I don't like the too melancholy words that it used. Should have been better if it used Balinese, Aceh or any other Indonesian ethnic languages which are beyond my grasp. It would make it sound more exotic, and I don't have to feel annoyed even though the lyric is actually weepy.

Anyhow, as a whole, it's worth to collect. Moreover, the CD box design is humble but pulling, probably wants to show that the contents are what matter. Indeed.

New Sensation

When I woke up this morning I had a funny feeling that I just saw in my dream JD wins the RockStar:INXS.

There's a superstitious belief amongst some people in my country that dream is the opposite of reality. I freaked out, and thought why I have to dream him winning. Bad luck!

Fortunately it was not an omen.
JD Fortune is the New Sensation!

Too bad Reality Show creates haters too, not only fans.
Mig and Marty each will be in their own success.
Why worry about them? Why throwing bad words over JD?

Mig Ayesa is great, but he's too well-mannered to rock.
Marty is great, but didn't blend well with INXS as seen at the finale show.

JD, he's great and dynamic.
He thinks fast and outside the box as mentioned by Andrew.

So for JD haters, like JD sang it well:
....You can't always get what you want.....
......You just might find.............
........You get what you need......

JD is What you need.

Now, I'm gonna miss
The House Band!
Finally, not
All About JD.
Enjoy the new sensation.

End of Rockstar

Can't wait to see the result of Rockstar: INXS, yet feel sad if the programme finally end.
I'm glad about the left contestants, they all deserve it.
It's a pity to see three of them will be off of the show.

Can't really make up my mind who I think best fits INXS, Marty or JD?
Both have wonderful voices, good stage performances and songwriting/ composing talents, especially JD.
I prefer Marty's Tree than JD's Pretty Vegas though, but Pretty Vegas is more energetic.
The vibes did spread.

JD also has one more thing that no other contestants can beat, controversy.
He sells.
His blog gets the most comments.
People hate and love him, and what about his 'peace 448' meaning?

Ty and Deanna have gone.
Still I think Deanna has a unique and great voice!
Ty, he has a great voice too, but his attitude was a bit disturbing!
I lost appetite seeing him stuck out his tongue many times like that.
Dave even exclaimed 'ewwwww', and warned him more or less that 'this isn't that kind of show'.
If JD stuck out his tongue improperly like that too, I wouldn't fancy him either.

Ty's final words that pull the race card is really embarrassing.
Why blaming his defeat on other people?
I'm glad he's out!

What do you call it?

Something that you really like,
but you know only a little thing about that something,
that although you don't particularly try to keep it in your head,
it actually sits there still, in your head.

You never really talk about it,
cos you don't really know how to describe that thing.
Then one day it comes to you.
No, it's not a dream comes true,
cos it's not really a dream though it's liked very dearly.

So, what do you call it?
Cos that's what I've just experienced...I finally have these song...

1.It's got to beee....eee...eee....perfect....
It's got to beee....eee....eee....worth it....
(so it's Fairground Attraction! It's been on
and off my mind since I don't know when! Perfect)

2.Xdono...è fatto è fatto...

Rock Star: INXS

Just a week or more ago some people in Indonesia got surprised by the local news broadcasted about Armand Maulana of Gigi Band, one of Indonesia popular rock bands, would join audition for the next lead singer of INXS in a programme called Rock Star: INXS.
The first thought that crossed my mind: "how could?"
I never find his voice is special, and not to mention the lack of cool attitude in him.
Yesterday I finally had a little clue of Armand connection with INXS from one of the radio stations in my city: Armand will only get a chance to perform with the band, but not as one of the contestants.
Today I get more information about it when I visited INXS website.

Armand is only used as a marketing gimmick by our new local TV O Channel to its viewers. But why Armand? Once (read On-Ch), the lead vocal of Dewa Band is the best rock vocalist so far in Indonesia ...according to my good taste of course ;-)
I think cos Dewa is too solid for just a tool.
Actually with or without Armand I think the programme is still the same: it's INXS, who doesn't want to see?

Who are my preferences amongst the contestants so far?
First day: Marty, Ty, JD
Today: Marty, Ty, JD and Deanna.

But JD has something more.....he's crazy! :-D (or naturally crazy? he's natural and he's crazy)
He can be a good substitute for the late Hutchence. Because of that 'x' factor, that 'something' makes him a good package.

Taste the Music

I'm a junkie for good tunes, and so the opportunity of downloading music for free and legally is like tasting tiramisu for me. Means, so alluring (...sorryyy...I'm at lost with words now, so mind my hyperbolic language).
Ok...it's an invitation from one of the guys who did an on-line sixdegrees project
which I participated a while ago (I actually had forgotten it).

This time is about music.
They try to understand how people form their musical tastes.
The good news for music junkies like me, those who participate are allowed to discover and download cool new music there for FREE.
I don't know how cool they are yet, but my ears are always up for any kind of music, even for experimental weird music.
Apologise, except for Dangdut with weepy/ suicidal/ the end of the world/ tacky lyrics and repetitive tunes.

I said like tasting tiramisu.
So far my tiramisu tasting experience in my city: mostly the look was delicious, but many times the taste left me in disappointment. So fake! So ersatz! So...Ok sorry...I'm supposed to blog about music project not tiramisu!

Remember, you can burn it (the song, not tiramisu), fry it, grill it to a CD or copy it to a portable mp3 player but DO NOT give it to your friends. Ask the gangs to reveal their musical taste and experience singlehandedly at
